This is an African music organization which is based in East London, it was
found by Mkele Nambe from Cote De Vouire in 1996. It was hard starting the group
with the hope that African population has now reached 15% in the united
kingdom, for the African musicians to come together as one. This
organization has really helped the African music industry to go
globally.
The African Music Hub is at the heart of the
African Music world. In association with our partners we provide a
portal for African Music with access to sites, information, news,
discussion forum and mail list.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bring together professional and experienced people
from the music industry to help raise the profile and to expand the
awareness of Central African music and musicians in the UK.
This organization which is set up, posses the energy and
passion to develop African music. We believe in its potential and want
to promote it with other music styles in the U.K especially East London
and Worldwide that will give the music the boost it deserves. This can
then have a positive impact on UK urban culture as a whole. "There is no
doubt we have made a lot of progress, As time pass surely the
biggest organization providing services and support to Central African
music and artists in the UK.
The organization generates some of its own income through Grants, tours,
merchandising and sponsorship. With a sounder financial structure now in
place, We see many new opportunities for growth. "As the organization
grows, so the next stage, will be to find new premises, and implement a
volunteering network. The organization also recognizes the potential
benefits of a successful London 2012 Olympic bid. The Olympic Games will
be a great way to promote a diverse range of cultural activities in
London to people from all over the world. Our organization will be one
of those organizations willing to work hard for the celebration.
Our mission is to get everybody out there to come together as one.
